VINTAGE REPORT
With the continuation of the ‘worst drought in a century’ the fruit in our Rylstone vineyard were struggling for water.
Although we had extreme heat in the weeks leading up to maturity, the cool region of Rylstone together with stony soil
and low yields, our fruit was able to mature well in difficult times.
WINEMAKING
Hand picked fruit from our scenic Rylstone vineyard was open fermented in small open vats. A warm fermentation and
gentle working of the cap by hand preceded maturation in French oak hogshead produced this stunning aromatic,
savoury and complex wine.

WINEMAKER’S NOTES
Some cool mint lift and earthy undertones accompany the blood plum aromatics. The palate shows the rich, chunky
tannins so typical of the variety, with restrained cedary oak.
