Tasting Notes

VINTAGE REPORT
In 2005, we saw rain start to fall after a long time waiting. Between the flowering stage of the vines growth period
until a few months before harvest, 12 inches of rain fell. The last couple of months of dry weather meant that the
grapes could mature and develop the flavour characteristi cs typical of cool climate grapes.

WINEMAKING
The fruit was carefull y hand picked and sorted to avoid any bunches that could have been damaged by the storms.
The bunches of berries were tenderly whole bunch pressed then cool fermented (finishing hot). Half of the juice was
barrel fermented in new French oak for 4 months while the other half was in stainless steel tanks.

WINEMAKER’S NOTES
A refreshing wine with aromati cs of cinnamon, nutmeg and melon and a fresh cit rus undertone. The palate is
tightly balanced with acidity and seamlessly integrated oak. Delic ious drinking now, this wine will continue to build
over the next 5-8 years.
