VINTAGE REPORT

Following a few tough vintages, 2006 was a sigh of relief. Decent rainfall in December was followed be a dry spell during verasion (the time when the grapes change colour) to harvest. To allow the optimum shade and exposure, canopy management was conducted to ensure high quality grapes on the vine. A brilliant vintage for the area!

WINEMAK ING
Handpicked berries from the Rylstone vineyard were quickly transported to the winery for immediate crush. The wine was fermented in traditional open vats with a gentle working of the cap by hand. Although this wine was s lightly oaked, the use of the oak is restrained to compliment the bright fruit flavours.

WINEMAKER’S NOTES
This bright wine is packed with concentration and finesse. Aromatics of spearmints, violets and cigar-box flavours with blueberries on the palate backed with the typical fine cabernet tannins. This wine will develop well over the next 3-8 years with careful cellaring.
